The Show

This place is very dusty.

Maybe I should start writing more, so I could channel all the anger and happiness combined.

The good news? Remember this old piece that didn't work out? This time it is happening.

The Long Goodbye

Saya dah janji nak karang dalam BM kan? Jadi saya tulis dalam BM sekarang.

Baik tulis sekarang, nanti lupa. Dah la malas. Suka tangguh lagi. Aduhai.

2-3 hari ni sangat sibuk tak tahu la kenapa.

Hari Jumaat pegi cari kerja teringin nak jadi Barista padahal poket semakin kering jadi perlu plan B sebab tak nak susah mak dan bapak.

Hari Sabtu malam pegi tengok Konsert Akademi Fantasia dengan sepupu sebab dia nak belanja. Ikut saja lah sebab saya bukan selalu berlepak dengan saudara sendiri jarang-jarang sekali. Tak la hebat sangat konsert tu sebab bosan gila. Saya tak minat AF langsung, tapi sebab suka pegi tengok persembahan live, nak amik feel semata-mata.

Banyak pulak orang pelangi kat situ. Biasa la kot?

Hari Ahad rushing pegi jumpa Timbalan Setiausaha Dalam Negara Hal Ehwal Kebudayaan dan Pendidikan USA di The Ritz Residence. Orangnya kecik dan comey saja nama Ms Pally. Orang kuat Clinton.

Hari Isnin makan malam di The Royale Chulan. Di layan hebat macam VIP sama dengan alumni program lain yang penah ke USA. Seronok dapat becakap, sebab bila saya bukak mulut banyak idea keluar. Kepala otak sentiasa berpusing pikir benda nak buat dalam komuniti. Contoh, hujung minggu ni ada Global Youth Service Day jadi kami pegi Rumah Anak Yatim buat Program Perkaya Bahasa Inggeris, lepas tu hari Ahad pegi Rumah Pelindungan Gadis Mengandung Bawah Umur derma pakaian.

Seronok tolong orang walau tak dapat untung atau duit. Yang penting orang lain dapat kebaikan. Ni semua kerja ramai-ramai dengan ahli alumni jugak.

Sayang sebab kat Bolehland orang ramai penting diri kalau benda tu tak bawak balik duit orang tak nak buat tapi saya seronok saja buat walau poket saya sentiasa kering.

Sekarang saya membujang balik. Awal-awal hari tu ada main-main cheenta sikit tapi tak menjadi. Entah la, mungkin saya tak pandai. Tak ada pengalaman.

Sebab tu saya suka buat aktiviti sukarela ni. Alih perhatian dari benda-benda yang menyakit hati.

Ha. Kan dah cakap saya tak pandai tulis dalam BM. Dulu masa kelas tuisyen saya cemerlang bila SPM haprak je dapat.

Mesti semua bosan baca. Tak paham sepatah harem saya tulis.

Harap maaf. Selamat malam semua.

Me, Myself and I

Its been a week since, or so since I last wrote stuff.

The entire week has been terribly busy starting off with Trisha's birthday in Sunway Lagoon. It was practically fun although it was very much costly. However, it was really worth it. We had great dinner at Manhattan Fish Market which was absolutely my first time ever and it was on her therefore it wasn't that bad considering I'm getting heavily broken by each second I breathe. Speaking of which, the new fan page I joined in Facebook, I do really wish money would have sex in my pocket and multiply.

On the same night I rushed to Bandaraya to Quality Hotel for a camp training. It was fun to meet up with the favorite people on earth and mingle around with all the educational stuff in between but overall it was fun, fun and fun.

The entire week seemed more like a waste as college was tiring and the new f-up system, is just f-up-ed. The college decided to auto register its new students. And therefore, they decided to register me on courses I have exempted. With the faculty having almost 400 students or so, I wish the best of luck to the staff.

And I sincerely thank God for my results. 6 subjects, and with playfulness in between I have no idea how I made it. Perhaps the never ending coffee misery helped much.

Thats all for now. My eyeballs are about to pop out. And I am hungry.

I will write more about my first ever Akademi Fantasia concert experience. Seriously, I knew none of the contestant as I never liked the show at the first place. Drama, much?

The Burning Babe

This is my 155th post.

No, I don't seek popularity like those who'd announce their blog anniversary. Monkeys With Tarter Sauce came a long way since space.live.com online journal. That was like in 2005 when I was actively writing about my Egyptian Adventure as an exchange student for 2-months.

The name it self came about from a special online friend whom I've known since 2002 and we're still friends until now.

Even so, there are readers for my blog. Its a personal space and I never expect frequent and regular readers therefore I sincerely thank you for being interested with my forever, never-ending miserable adventurous life stories.

Never mind that. I'm back in college. I have so many things to do in my room. Those who are friends with me in Facebook may have seen the terrible destruction of my room. Its big mess.

Need to clean up.

Tomorrow is going to be a short day and Friday, I will hit Sunway Lagoon for the first time ever for Trisha's birthday.

Weekend would be filled with volunteers' training program.

Seems like my holiday is really ending now!

Yikes.

The Scientist

I told you I suck at writing in BM. I can only speak, but I sound stupid writing in one.

Anyway, I'm supposed to write about the adventure to Tioman. It was a terrible mess, on going there itself.

On Thursday, April March 25th, I went out with Colin who just came back for Spring Break/Easter Holiday from Deutschland. We hung out in Pavilion and since its been a while there was so much to catch up. Amazingly, I was punctual which is is the total opposite since he now studies in a country where you'd never be forgiven for being late.

We had lunch in Food Republic and then just wandered around into the mall, and having both of us being conscious about our money (he is extremely frugal than me) we just window shopped for the most part of the day.

It all changed when we entered Cotton On. Everything was too cheap for a regular Topman/Zara standard.

A really good price, seriously.

To get the cash was another challenge. I was unprepared to shop. We headed to the atm next to Starbucks and the security guys were getting some cash in and technical stuff was going on. The one downstairs was not working.

Device Failure.

Damn you CIMB.

Off we went around to walk and walk before I got myself the slip in shoe.

We than hung out at the Starbucks just because he never experience the only reason why and what people do there.

We got bored then, walked all the way to KLCC and hung out to continue the gossips, and then headed to Kinokuniya before hopping on the next train home.

I'm not writing the entire journey of the day, as much as I used to enjoy telling the world about my dailies, but I shall conclude it was a great day with a very old friend. We hardly talk sometimes, and getting others of the gang to come along was not easy on weekdays so i'm happy everything went well.

Can't wait for other meet ups, coffee dates, plane-watching with other friends.

=)

Monday, Monday

I can't believe how fast time ran away from me. Just a week ago I was in Singapore, and now I'm running behind deadlines for assignment. Damn.

Brittany Murphy just died, while Perez Hilton going hoo-haa because Brittany hubby don't want any autopsy. Poor child. She is one of the few fun people you like to see on movies as much as you can. Something like the kind of blonde-material yet fun and naturally joy and hyper.

Remember Uptown Girl? The nanny in it was her.

Singapore has been so much fun. Mustafa, my online buddy for the past few years was an awesome host. He was over in KL for a night after a 3-day holiday trip with his family in Cameron Highland. Apparently his parents is so much hip too. They may look like some typical Pak Cik and Mak Cik but they are beyond that stereotype. Instead of fussing over no accommodation for a night before departing home they deliberately hobo-ed in the airport. Cool or not? Family too, can hobo around like backpackers!

Well I met up with him on Friday because I left my mini-wallet in his bag. I was without my ATMs, gym card and IC for about a week. Thank god we are in neighboring country! I only noticed not having it with me when I was at Tanah Merah MRT interchange, and its already the last train that night to the airport from Clementi. The ride took about an hour and going back to his place means I would miss my flight the next morning. Well, stupidly Air Asia was delayed then for an hour.

I got a haircut which went horrible right after I arrived in Sentral on Monday from the airport. The she-dude cut the wrong way. Let it be another lesson, to only get a haircut from someone with the same hairstyle or at least in her 40s. The only reason I got a haircut that day was because I was about to meet Special Representative for Muslim Committee for a special meeting with YES alumni and other delegates at MACEE.

The week ran away from me literally. Saturday was a fun day, with AFS people we had Christmas Party. No elaboration is required because its the kind of day where everyone laugh and joyed.

I'm waiting for my laundry to be done. The dryer is not functioning and the sun is not shining.

Bleh.

P/S: to Mud, kalau hang mau chek belanja tengok Muallaf, jom. Seriously. Pastu makan char kuey teow. Nak tak? Hang ja dapat menda ni semua tau. =D

Where Did I Go Right?

I became very insecure with life for uncertain reasons, perhaps with the typical people around me on daily basis. Although I firmly believe in what the Victoria Secret Vice President of Public Relations mentioned before; "What people think of you is none of your business. Grow up, suck it and embrace it" has been stuck on my mind and I never failed to bother until most recently which brought me to think about so many things.

I like to think deep, very deep in fact. Its unavoidable.

I just came back from Korean food buffet at Seoul Garden in Kerinchi. It was RM43.32 freakin bucks but thankfully it was unlimited. I'm still very stuffed.

Also, I enjoyed the day because I was with the kind of people whom I can have LOL moments in public. Yes, I'm a big laugher and can be annoying sometime but I just like to have fun. Let all the laughter out. Its really stress-free and relaxing.

Earlier before that, I met up with Sheesha whom currently studying in Murdoch in Perth. She is my ultimate IKEA Swedish meatballs partner-in-crime and the only one I eat IKEA meatballs with. Its like our special ritual. We met each other about 4 years ago, exactly around these days before going to Egypt where we went on an exchange program. Back then, I've thought she was the kind of spoilt, typical brat but she is one of the best friend I've befriended. Although she is on her summer break, she will be leaving to Jakarta for some ESQ program and then 5 weeks in Beijing continuing her Mandarin course.

I feel good for being able to laugh after a week of fun deprived as well as being around the kind of people I enjoy having fun with.

I stink and smell like those smokes meat we burned out food just now. Taking shower, off to bed. House hunting for friend from JB around SS2 tomorrow. Let me know if you know any vacant room for single occupant.

Its been a whole long exciting and productive week. If you happen to be friends with me on Facebook, you can have a peek at the exciting photos happening around.

View the week-long fun here.

I'm off to my hometown, the great island and will keep writing more if that is anyone ever interested. Its rather personal writing sometimes. About friends but dedicated to strangers..

Choux Pastry Heart

If you ever bothered you will read this. Or at least, if you have ever, been interested in my life which isn't a big thing but mere different than the ordinary. Nothing special, really.

Saturday 24th October;
Evening - Tea with US Ambassador
Night - Gala Dinner at Nikko Hotel

Sunday - Thursday
Training for Trainers at Grand Dorsett, Subang with fellow YES Alumni from various countries. Wanna know more about YES? Go watch Field Trip USA on 8TV. You can watch it online here. Been there, done that. The best 6 month of my life in USA.

I was in Tulsa, Oklahoma. What so great about the place? Everything. It feels more like USJ in a way, but with extra tornado warnings on television while watching South Park uncensored.

I was in musical too, called Guys and Dolls. Its amazing to be on a broadway show in high school.

Thursday
Airport run at KLIA. We love this because we love EVERYTHING that has to do with anything that flies. Airline brands, airline codes, airport codes, cabin crews, pilots, Boeing, Airbus, you name it we know it.

You can catch me on Facebook, or Twitter. If you plan to add please let me know who you are and where you found me. I don't add strangers for no reason.

Happy Boys and Girls

There has been a series of unforgettable event happening lately and most of them are too interesting to be published on a single entry. Even so, I just have no time to write them all nor even want to write due to the lack of enthusiasm that have started to attack me lately.

Time officially ran away from me. Ramadan is about to end really, really soon.

On Saturday, I was out with a bunch of orang putih kids whom I were with a week earlier in Teluk Chempedak. As you may be aware, I had post up about getting online on the beach at about 12am. It was amazing. Perhaps, let the photos do the talking now?

We start with Teluk Chempedak stuff for this entry, ok.

After completing a session we ran towards the beach. Little did we realize it was 3pm. We ran back. Talking on the phone left me exhausted and so there the photo was taken.

We played Untangled. And then, Masabele.

When the weather was not too hot we headed to the beach later that evening.

I had sand literally on my face after someone start smashing their shoes. That was not a pinch.

The beach was next to a jungle-like area. And so we met our new vulture friends.

Our buka puasa. Apparently, Frenchie-in-blue insist on fasting and so we were still hungry at midnight and grabbed some chickin'

Ultimately we found WIFI on the beach. That was one of the highlight.

I have to get ready for class. I was unconscious this morning and did not wake up.

Life For Rent

On contrary of what I have mentioned earlier in the previous post in regards of my ever worry about deteriorating writing skills, I only worry more about being googled. I noticed on random hop, skip and jump away reading comments given by lecturer anonymously to the student feeling sorry and disappointed about the life the student has chosen; the personal views in my opinion includes such as political ideologies, principle of equal opportunities, ancestry, religious views disability, gender identity, sexual preferences, lifestyles and behaviors and the list goes on.

It should have been a free space, or ultimately a hidden dungeon of evil blabs about the worldly view.

Regardless of that, currently I believe those who are my friends on facebook are somewhat significantly important to me even to the value of less than 5%. Speaking of which, I could possibly stalk them too. Otherwise, I would be contemplating on whether to add or even perhaps ignore, which does not seems to happen yet because at present there are almost 730 friends, 129 friends request and 20 friends suggestion.

Why am I not accepting any of them, yet? I have second thoughts about personal privacy invasion having the fact my life relies on Facebook with all the Mails now going there as well as important Events and Groups I have to manage in order to keep in touch with certain important constituencies I'm involved with, voluntarily or not.

Now, FarmVille is just another addiction. Remember Harvest Moon: Back to Nature? I played that back in late primary school years, and played almost 3 years in real life, 6 years on gaming years. At the end of the day the stupid ol' PSone memory card got corrupted. Utter depression for a long, long period. I'm not a gamer by nature. The only computer game I played seriously was SimCity 4; which was another suggestion by good ol' school TechTv suggested by Leo Laporte if I'm not mistaken or so.

Freakishly enough, you could assume and stereotype what a kind of person a someone could be by looking at the mutual friends. One could be from same school while the other could explain about college but when you have at least 5-7 within the same interest group...

I have no idea what I've just blabed. This is just another insomnia effect I assume. I'm off to watch How I Met Your Mother season 2.

A meeting in the morning, then outing with the students and we will be having buka puasa dinner for 30 people in Nirvana, Bangsar. Yes. 30. We shall see how that will happen.

Vampire Weekend

The weekend ended great. I had WIFI on the beach in Teluk Chempedak. Its an amazing place to be at over the weekend. Believe it or not, there was KFC and McD and it operates 24 hours basis. Ironically, we had 3 students from USA besides one each from France, Venezuela, Portugal and 2 from Germany for our camp.

It was quite a rush in the morning and we arrived in the middle of the afternoon and settled down by late afternoon with few sessions and games. One thing I love about volunteering for camps is that we have games that is nothing like those orientation-ragging-game commonly happens in college.

We headed to the beach, had a jumping shot and later had buka puasa at a cafe by the beach. It was a good evening, and later we continued a bit on few sessions and headed back to the beach for supper. The KFC was awfully crowded at 12 midnight. We waited for at least 45 minutes to settle down before giving up on getting the food. It was I, and the Frenchie who waited still to get out snack plate since I've been craving for crispy unhealthy and yummy fried chicken with extra cheese cheezy wedges.

We headed to the beach and sat on the beach. The rest of the group were already there and while trying to settle my bump on the sandy beach under prettyful moonlight The (other) Mac Kid said, "Hey, I got WIFI!". This is better than I expected. WIFI on the beach. After finishing my gluttony desire over fried chicken and updating my Facebook status we headed back for an intense sessions of Mafia game. You know, that kind of game where there are mafias, doctor and investigator and everyone else are villagers and end up accusing one another after a death of a villager. It went intense after 5 rounds!

We headed back to the city on Sunday. It was a not exactly productive but more of a relaxing weekend too. I fell in love with Teluk Chempedak because of its isolation (not really) but more because it felt good to be back on beach. Also, perhaps Teluk Chempedak turns into Bukit Bintang at night made me utterly surprised how much people would be willing to be awake until 4am to be by the beach. Not exactly just couple, also families and friends and etc.

So its good to be on the beach. I grew up on an island, mind you!

I've been getting text messages from this particular number and details are as mentioned. It came from the future, as it appears apparently and the time has 30 minutes extra beyond the regular 60 minutes cycle. Now, it doesn't make any sense since the messages were all empty. Could it be from the future? From myself, perhaps? Or maybe I want to send something to me, from the future?

In addition on what I mentioned in the previous post, yours truly will be featured in the local national television news either tonight; 4th or maybe the 6th. Thankfully, no one watches this boring channel. The reporter was such a [insert attitude verb] and [insert another one] most of the time which annoyed the heck out of everyone most of the time. I hope my part will be edited out too since I mumbled over the question; which was "What made you want to come back to Bolehland?"

I mean what the heck, since all exchange students were supposed to go home once the program ends. Irregardless, I do not have any television but if you happen to see me please let me know how horrendous I looked. I was interviewed right after I was munching my buka puasa and my face was all covered in oil and crap. I hate tv interviews.

I'm off to Teluk Cempedak over the weekend for a weekend getaway with newly recently arrived exchange students. My first time ever to that part of east coast besides the two conservative states back then when I was younger.

Morning Lullabies

I have few significant friends that could be considered as significant as best friends. One of them is Ding whom I've known all the way back in high school and at this moment I'm crashing over his couch and its already 6.14am in the morning and I could listen to the prayer from KLCC As-Syakirin Mosque which is just a walking distance away from where he lives. Its just too unfortunate that its unsafe to walk across the park to the mosque which made me not go perform any obligatory towards the Lord.

I'm amaze that the prayers are really loud too considering the fact people who lives here earn more than what most of us hobo-hippie-anything-below-middle-class could earn for a lifetime tolerate it. In certain places we hear comments, and sometimes complaints from residence about the loud calling-for-prayers; Azan and stuff like that. Personally, I like to listen to Azan because it makes me grounded to what I am and also reminded me so much of good ol' days in Cairo back then in 2005; when I stayed there for 2 months as an exchange student; where there are million of mosque.

This is across from main door.
In 30 years time I must be able to afford one of this or so.
Not a just dream, more of a mission.

I'm just writing this random entry because I need to kill time to get sleepy again before heading to a great window shopping day. I've been bloated with Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa we had just now. Its amazing to see different races getting into Kampung Baru even to get such great meal. Usually, there's always stereotype about going into Kampung and all but for once it made a big difference to see but perhaps its just inside the city so people don't usually care?

Outside the house we see this.

I never had a proper Kampung upbringing. Its one of the thing that perhaps made me less cultural about my ethnicity, or perhaps I've been to culturally diverse being a Bolehlander? I've lived and grew up on an island of great of food and colonial stuff, see. I see things different from what most peers see.

I should be sleeping now and stop mumbling.

How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.

Footnotenowheadnote: I did not paid for the tickets and accommodation. The only thing I paid for was the visa and all the trouble to get it done. Irregardless, there is now a substitute to go for very short term period of time, for a better and brighter future of the alumni.

Remember few post ago I mentioned I was supposed to go to Obamaland?

Tickets have been purchased and around this time I'm supposed to be on B747 on DL operated by CI from TPE to LAX then to IAD.

Guess what? I'm still in Bolehland now. The plan has been canceled because I could not be there by Sunday night since Department of Homeland Security has not approved my visa.

And nothing could ever describe what I've been going through the last 2 weeks rushing to settle things up. And most of the money spent on preparing to go. Nevermind the flight and accommodation to the conference since that would have been paid for. Its just that all the misery I had to go through and all.

Best of all, I even lost my wallet. And everything that was in it too.

Sigh. I'm a crier. And I did cried a lot. It was a second opportunity to go without having to hurt an arm and a leg, and it blew itself yet again.

I'm already broke, and now even broken.

Revolusi

Well no need to guess the name of this singer.

I literally screamed, jumped in front of the tv and in front of my parents when they won the Ultimate Shout! Award. OMG SCRRREEEEAAAMMMMMMMM!!!!!!

I loved them to death but thankfully not to the point that I am a fanatic and buy every single magazine they are featured on, stalking them, go to every gigs and so forth. Even unfortunately, I have had 4 different chances of going to watch them perform, plus one in my college next month (which I might just not be in the country then) and never been to one. At least I somehow is connected to Sam through a friend. Irregardless, they won!

On the other hand, the one show I have been spending money texting to 33399 won the Favorite TV Program Award. Its the one and only Field Trip USA!! Its the most amazing show ever produced by local television network and obviously its even most amazing as you could experience and see what's going on with the students while they live their lives as exchange students in the US of A. Obviously, I could relate my very own personal experience back then in 2007 too. It brings a whole lot of good memories and bittersweet experiences come to life watching that show in particular. [Click HERE]

And if you are lucky, you might spot one particular curly hair dude/volunteer (ehem, yours truly =P) in some of the episodes. =)

I have even more and better things to share now at the upcoming conference that I will be going soon! Let's just hope that State Department would approve my visa application as soon as possible (especially with the new trouble with most recent bombings in Jakarta-may the victim rest in peace and may justice handle the deal) since I would be flying out on Friday afternoon.

I'm praying hard for the best.

On a separate note, I had my driving test today. The hill one, which I failed last week. Shaken, and there was few complication at first but thankfully with the grace of God - I survived and PASSED.

Yes baby!! homeboy is gonna drive y'all now! - only if I could afford to buy my own car.

Lights, Camera, Action

The Mid Stay Orientation Camp went smoothly though it was in one of the most congested city in the highlands. Everyone behaved, and it was a good time for everyone. Certainly feels good to be back volunteering again.

On a different note, I've got my result for my exams. It was not perfect but I'm satisfied.

GPA:3.833
CGPA:3.804

A rise from the previous one of 0.018. I must do better next semester. My mum is happy too she wanted to cry all again of which she almost did after the previous exams. I thank God for the brain I still have functioning well even with mere 2 hours of sleep during the study break.

It was fun hanging out with my only friend from high school whom I see on regular basis. This is what we did on Sunday evening recently. [Click]

Another thing to look forward is I'm going to be flying on MH765 to Tan Son Nhat and returning from Suvarnabhumi of the following Sunday with FD3573.

Goodbye, and I shall be back in another 10 days.
