Vampire Weekend

The weekend ended great. I had WIFI on the beach in Teluk Chempedak. Its an amazing place to be at over the weekend. Believe it or not, there was KFC and McD and it operates 24 hours basis. Ironically, we had 3 students from USA besides one each from France, Venezuela, Portugal and 2 from Germany for our camp.

It was quite a rush in the morning and we arrived in the middle of the afternoon and settled down by late afternoon with few sessions and games. One thing I love about volunteering for camps is that we have games that is nothing like those orientation-ragging-game commonly happens in college.

We headed to the beach, had a jumping shot and later had buka puasa at a cafe by the beach. It was a good evening, and later we continued a bit on few sessions and headed back to the beach for supper. The KFC was awfully crowded at 12 midnight. We waited for at least 45 minutes to settle down before giving up on getting the food. It was I, and the Frenchie who waited still to get out snack plate since I've been craving for crispy unhealthy and yummy fried chicken with extra cheese cheezy wedges.

We headed to the beach and sat on the beach. The rest of the group were already there and while trying to settle my bump on the sandy beach under prettyful moonlight The (other) Mac Kid said, "Hey, I got WIFI!". This is better than I expected. WIFI on the beach. After finishing my gluttony desire over fried chicken and updating my Facebook status we headed back for an intense sessions of Mafia game. You know, that kind of game where there are mafias, doctor and investigator and everyone else are villagers and end up accusing one another after a death of a villager. It went intense after 5 rounds!

We headed back to the city on Sunday. It was a not exactly productive but more of a relaxing weekend too. I fell in love with Teluk Chempedak because of its isolation (not really) but more because it felt good to be back on beach. Also, perhaps Teluk Chempedak turns into Bukit Bintang at night made me utterly surprised how much people would be willing to be awake until 4am to be by the beach. Not exactly just couple, also families and friends and etc.

So its good to be on the beach. I grew up on an island, mind you!
